Mexican Market Operator incorporates the first Clearing House

WLL is advising CENACE (ISO and Market operator) for the incorporation of the first clearing house. This entity will implement a mechanism allowing Qualified Suppliers (other than the CFE Basic Supplier) to participate in the Long-Term Auctions to purchase Clean Electricity and Capacity for 15 year terms and Clean Energy Certificates for 20-year terms.

Development of EnJoy Castorena Residential Project begins

ROSVA, S.A. de C.V., begins development of a high end real estate project with Ópera Desarrolladora in the Santa Fe area of Mexico City, with 100 residential units covering a total of 11,200 m2. WLL advised ROSVA on the structuring of the project.

Deka Immobilien purchases Terret corporate buildings

Deka Immobilien purchased Terret, a Class A+ development with two corporate buildings located in Nuevo Polanco, Mexico City, with approximately 65,000 m2 of leaseable space. WLL advised Deka on the purchase and is the fund's legal counsel on an ongoing basis for the negotiation of the Terret lease agreements.

Environmental Law and Climate Change

Conscious of the need for sustainable development, WLL, through its Alliance with LAGUNA, provides legal advice regarding environmental law and climate change.

We offer legal services regarding environmental law fulfillment strategies, covering the areas of environmental impact and risk; hazardous materials and waste; land contamination; land use; general waste; water concessions and permits and federal maritime and land zone; forest permits; as well as licenses and permits regarding emissions. We advise the federal government, state and municipal governments in the development of legislation and the implementation of programs.

Likewise, WLL offers legal services in the climate change practice. Our lawyers advise clients on the structuring, implementation and development of projects for the reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions; drafting of joint ventures for the implementation of said projects; drafting of Emissions Reduction Purchase Agreements (ERPAs); and carrying out audits. Our legal services also cover innovative sectorial programs for GHG reduction and the regimes that Mexico currently participates in for the certification of GHG reduction projects: the Kyoto Protocol, the Climate Action Reserve and national sectorial emissions reduction programs (NAMAs).
